Shenzhen Binhe Sewage Treatment Plant advances with AOA process
The first phase of the Shenzhen Binhe Sewage Treatment Plant's upgrade and expansion project was recently completed, marking a significant step forward as the project fully transitions into the "AOA" process phase. The facility is expected to be operational by the end of November this year.
This milestone will greatly enhance the plant's emergency sewage treatment capacity, ensuring stable discharge during the rainy season while improving overall treatment efficiency and water quality. Upon completion, the project will serve over 1.5 million residents, underscoring its importance in advancing Shenzhen's sustainable development and ecological balance.
The Binhe Sewage Treatment Plant, which currently handles 300,000 tons of sewage daily, has undergone four previous upgrades. With this latest expansion, the plant will adopt the "AOA" sewage treatment technology, boosting its capacity to 500,000 tons per day. Notably, this is the first large-scale water treatment facility in China to fully implement the "AOA" process.
