According to big data, the demand for taxis to beach destinations during this summer holiday has increased by 130% compared to spring. Qingdao, Weihai, Xiamen, Yantai, Qinhuangdao, Dalian, Shanghai, Beihai, Fuzhou, and Shenzhen are the top 10 popular seaside cities for the summer holiday in terms of ride-hailing demand.
The demand for taxis to Weihai international bathing beach, Xiamen Blue Tears Coast, Qingdao Shilaoren Beach, and Shenzhen Dameisha Beach Park has increased by 297%, 217%, 156%, and 154%, respectively, compared to spring.
With the continuous expansion of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy, more and more international tourists are visiting China. In July, the demand for Didi rides from international users increased by 57% compared to the previous year. The top five cities for ride-hailing demand are Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. The cities with the highest growth rates in ride-hailing demand are Kunming, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an, and Harbin, with Kunming and Chongqing seeing year-on-year increases of 368% and 326%, respectively, in July.
Many universities have opened their campuses for tours during the summer holiday. Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, and Xiamen University are the top four universities for ride-hailing demand from out-of-town visitors, with increases of 129%, 113%, 112%, and 121%, respectively, compared to spring. Among all universities, Harbin Institute of Technology saw the highest increase in out-of-town ride-hailing demand, with a year-on-year increase of 188%.
