Shenzhen port sees 80% increase in passenger flow in H1
According to statistics, as of June 30, Shenzhen General Border Inspection Station has inspected a total of 112 million inbound and outbound passengers this year, a year-on-year increase of 78.91%, with an average daily inspection of 616,000 passengers.
Known as the "First Port," Luohu Port is a crucial link for exchanges between the two cities. In the first half of this year, the port handled over 30 million inbound and outbound passengers, with a single-day peak of more than 248,000 passengers, breaking the single-day passenger flow record four times since the resumption of clearance.
This year, more and more cultural exchange activities have been held between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. During the "July 1" period, both cities launched various cultural activities and free visit programs, resulting in multiple instances of peak passenger flows in both directions at the ports. On June 30, Luohu Port's single-day passenger flow exceeded 248,000, setting a new high since the resumption of clearance. Additionally, Luohu Border Inspection Station has established special inspection areas for cross-border students and the elderly, inspecting over 540,000 cross-border students in the first half of the year and providing emergency assistance to passengers more than 20 times.
Due to the safety, convenience, and comfort of high-speed rail travel, West Kowloon Station has become a popular choice for cross-border travel. In the first half of this year, the West Kowloon Station Port inspected over 12.5 million inbound and outbound passengers, a year-on-year increase of 66%, with an average daily passenger flow of 68,600.
In 2023, approximately 3.5 million vehicles passed through Shenzhen Bay Port, ranking first among national ports. In the first half of this year, Shenzhen Bay Border Inspection Station inspected a total of 2.32 million inbound and outbound vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 70%.
The busy traffic at the ports is supported by smart innovations. Shenzhen Bay Port's combined "One Place, Two Inspections" model and 24-hour clearance advantage have pressed the "fast-forward button" for the efficient and convenient flow of people and goods in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In April of this year, following the development pace of the Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen Bay Border Inspection Station innovatively enhanced immigration management and services. After technical demonstrations and modifications, two additional left-side inspection devices were installed in the inbound and outbound car lanes, improving clearance efficiency.
