Shenzhen's high-tech enterprises, numbering in the tens of thousands, have been the driving force behind the city's high-quality development. As of the end of 2023, the balance of technology-related loans within Shenzhen amounted to 1,105.694 billion yuan ($152.87 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 32.34%.
In Oct. 2023, the "Implementation Guideline on Financial Support for Technological Innovation in Shenzhen" was issued, outlining 20 specific measures across five areas. They are improving the technology finance service system, promoting innovation in technology finance, encouraging technological support for venture capital, strengthening the function of the capital market, and enhancing platform and think tank services.
Shenzhen ranks among the top three cities nationwide in terms of venture capital institution numbers and fund management scale. Since Nov. 2022, the city has been hosting the monthly venture capital matchmaking event "Shenzhen Venture Capital Day" every month. So far, 17 such events have been held, covering various districts of Shenzhen and extending to Hong Kong. These events have provided a platform for 686 high-quality enterprises to showcase their projects, resulting in significant fund agreements totaling over 114 billion yuan.
