2023 China Marine Economy Expo kicks off in Shenzhen
The 2023 China Marine Economy Expo commenced in Shenzhen on Nov. 23, inaugurating the concurrent Shenzhen International Marine Week.
Themed with "Open Cooperation and Win-win Sharing," the Expo attracted a total of 658 key enterprises, institutions, and organizations in the marine sector from 16 countries and regions to register for offline participation, marking a growth of over 60% compared to the previous Expo and reaching a historic high in the number of offline exhibitors.
The current Expo boasts an exhibition area of 112,500 square meters, an increase of 52,500 square meters from the previous edition, setting a new record.
More than 100 overseas exhibitors, including representatives from the United States, Russia, Canada, Norway, Italy, Finland, Sweden, France, the Netherlands, Singapore, Germany, and Spain, are part of international delegations attending the Expo. During the Expo, the Global Marine Hub City Forum and over 20 professional forums will take place, where numerous domestic and international guests will engage in discussions and exchanges on topics such as marine technology, marine industry, shipping, maritime civilization, and cooperative governance.
Shenzhen International Marine Week kicked off with the theme "One Ocean, One Dream." The week-long event is organized around six themes: "Artistic Ocean," "Knowledge Ocean," "Flavorful Ocean," "Sporty Ocean," "Leisurely Ocean," and "Ecological Ocean." It will host a series of public activities centered on coastal living, ocean appreciation, and marine culture, creating a unique representation of Shenzhen's distinctive marine culture.
China's marine GDP reached 7.2 trillion yuan in the first three quarters of this year, registering a 5.8% year-on-year growth, indicating a positive trend in the overall recovery of the marine economy. The Expo stands as Shenzhen's flagship in the global marine hub, providing a platform to collectively explore technologies and achieve growth in the field of marine development.
