Shenzhen sees 33 million railway trips during summer travel rush
China Railway Shenzhen Bureau Group Co., Ltd reported that during the 62-day summer travel season, its railways handled over 33.6 million passengers, 17.5 million more than during the same period last year and a year-on-year increase of 108.95%.
Shenzhenbei Railway Station, a key transportation hub, witnessed a daily average of 389,000 passengers for a total of 24.1 million passengers throughout the season, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 12.1 million or 98.42%. Stations such as Futian and Pingshan experienced surges in passenger flow.
To cater to the growing travel demand, Shenzhen scheduled over 1,100 trains per day and added nearly 2,100 temporary trains to popular destinations like Guangzhou, Chaoshan, and Changsha.
