Innovation & entrepreneurship competition in Shenzhen platform prompts breakthroughs
Since it's launch in late May, the 15th Shenzhen Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition of China has attracted 7,852 projects from 39 countries and regions, a record high in terms of the number of projects and participating enterprises.
Among the 7,852 projects, 3,350 were submitted by enterprises, up 7.4% compared with that of the previous year, while the remainder are from project groups, which have become an important driver of economic recovery and a major promoter of innovation and employment.
The competition this year mainly focuses on seven fields — high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, new energy, new energy vehicles, energy conservation and environmental protection, the new generation of information technology, and biomedicine — with the hope that some of these projects can produce concrete results prompting breakthroughs in core technologies and fostering the commercialization of research findings.
As an important platform for the promotion of the integration of talents, technology, and industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen is committed to building a stage for young people from Hong Kong and Macao to realize their entrepreneurial dreams. The competition this year also attracted 181 projects from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao in its pre-selection stage.
