Travel easing facilitates Shenzhen-Hong Kong integration
According to authorities, starting from Feb. 6, travelers no longer need to apply before passing through land boundary control points linking the mainland’s Guangdong province and Hong Kong. In addition, the cap on the number of travelers passing through has been lifted.
Accordingly, Luohu Port and Liantang Port in Luohu district of Shenzhen, Guangdong have resumed operation. All three land ports in Luohu have now resumed customs clearance operations, heralding a new chapter of integration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Facilitating the integration is a key development strategy for Luohu. The district aims to be a leader in promoting the integration of the two cities, a hub of consumption, and a model for developing modern service industries.
The district will accelerate aligning its development strategies with those of Hong Kong and further improve its services for Hong Kong citizens living and working in the district.
