Government-funded technical training benefits people in Shenzhen
Vocational technical training organized by the Shenzhen Vocational Skills Training and Guidance Center has benefited around 13,000 people in the city since it was launched last year.
The training focuses on the development trend of emerging industries and people’s needs, and selected a group of high-quality training institutions through government procurement and public bidding.
The training covers nearly 70 posts in 14 new professions including artificial intelligence, chip technology application, virtual reality technology, information communication, e-commerce, video surveillance, building information modeling technology, industrial robots, industrial automation, intelligent buildings, and gold jewelry design and production.
Although the training is free, it is strictly managed and promptly evaluated to ensure it meets the needs of the people. The government has spent about 31.6 million yuan ($4.57 million) on the project. The program is expected to benefit 20,000 people by the end of this year and 50,000 people by 2025.
