Luohu unveils draft five-year industrial development plan
The Luohu Industry and Information Technology Bureau has begun soliciting public suggestions for its draft 2021-25 plan for industrial development in the district.
Under the draft of the 14th Five-Year Plan for Industrial Development of Luohu (2021-25), Luohu plans to build a duty-free mall of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, actively strive for the implementation of relevant duty-free policies, and support capable enterprises to apply for qualification in operating duty-free goods.
Luohu will further boost development of shopping centers in Dongmen, Renmin South, Hubei, Shuibei and Sungang as well as those near the ports.
The district will build departure duty-free shops and downtown foreign-exchange duty-free shops. It plans to take advantage of its strengthens in port economy and its geographical location as a hub of the Greater Bay Area to build itself into a first-class duty-free shopping center in the world.
Luohu will accelerate the development of its logistics industry, making it smarter and more internationalized. It will also promote application of advanced technologies, including big data, 5G, internet of things and artificial intelligence, in commerce, and encourage more medium and small-sized businesses to embrace online operation.
