GBA elderly healthcare voucher piloted in Shenzhen
On Aug. 14, the elderly healthcare voucher pilot program within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) was launched in Shenzhen, accompanied by the establishment of a multilingual volunteer team serving at Luohu's ports.
According to the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as of Aug. 5, eligible elderly residents can now access seven service points in the GBA where the elderly health care vouchers are accepted.
As the only secondary dental specialist hospital participating in the GBA Elderly Healthcare Voucher Pilot Program, Shenzhen C.K.J Stomatological Hospital, part of C-MER Medical Holdings Limited and located in Luohu, has officially begun accepting these vouchers. This initiative provides greater convenience and flexibility for Hong Kong elderly residents living in Shenzhen and those visiting from Hong Kong, setting a precedent for the collaborative development of healthcare resources within the GBA.
Regarding the multilingual volunteer team, Luohu now boasts more than 310,000 registered volunteers, representing 24% of the district's total population. These volunteers offer professional and considerate services to international travelers in multiple languages, including English, Russian, French, Japanese, German, and Arabic.
As a district with strong ties to Hong Kong, Luohu has consistently engaged in deeper, broader, and more advanced levels of practical cooperation with its neighboring city.
