Dongmen memorial hall opens
A ceremony was held on that day to mark the opening of the hall as well as the publishing of a book reviewing the history of Dongmen street, one of the oldest business streets in Shenzhen, which dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
The memorial hall took two years to build and consists of photos, videos and historical files.
Meanwhile, the contents of the book have been collected from local museums, field researchers, and interviews with locals.
They are both part of the efforts Luohu has made to explore the district’s historical resources to help inspire people to carry on the pioneering spirit of reformers in Shenzhen.
