Several infrastructure projects in Luohu district have been listed among key projects of Shenzhen for 2023, the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission announced on Feb. 27.

The projects include building the westward extension of Metro Line 5, the expansion of Luohu Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital, the construction of Guiyuan Middle School and the Dongxiao campus of Cuiyuan Middle School, and the transformation and upgrading of Dongxiao Primary School. 

The city's fixed asset investment this year is expected to reach 1 trillion yuan ($144.8 billion), according to the Shenzhen 2023 Government Work Report. The projects mainly focus on transportation, energy, water conservation and municipal infrastructure.
