Luohu settles annual objectives and government work priorities
The third plenary session of the eighth Luohu District People's Congress opened on Jan. 10.
Head of Luohu district Fan Defan, also deputy secretary of the Luohu Committee of the Communist Party of China, delivered a work report on behalf of the Luohu district government at the opening of the annual meeting of the district's top legislature.
Fan reviewed the government's work over the past year and listed this year's development objectives and key tasks of the government.
In 2022, the district kept a balance between COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control and its socioeconomic development by faithfully adhering to the directives from the central authorities in an innovative way that adapted to the situation in the district.
According to the report, Luohu's major targets for economic and social development this year include a year-on-year increase of at least 6.5% in GDP, a public budget of at least 12.7 billion yuan (US$1.87 billion) in government revenue, an at least 38-billion-yuan fixed asset investments, and an increase of at least 5% in sales of consumer goods. Besides, an increase of at least 3% in the added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size and the increase of per capita disposable income should be achieved.
Fan noted that promoting industries' high-quality development, attracting investment, talent, and promising enterprises, protecting the environment as well as improving people's livelihoods are priorities of the government's work this year. To that end, the government will continue to improve the district's business environment, enhance its efficiency and services, and put the people in the first place.
Fan called on the district's lawmakers to continue to make their due contributions in their respective fields toward the sustainable and high-quality development of Luohu.
