Shenzhen is a crucial city for provincial projects
Most of the critical projects the Guangdong provincial government will fund this year are located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with Shenzhen as a vital city, according to a plan, which the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission has recently released.
The document shows that Guangdong will invest 7.67 trillion yuan ($1.2 trillion) in 1,570 projects, among which 900 billion yuan is planned to be spent this year.
The projects in Shenzhen mainly concentrate on modern infrastructure, traffic and transportation, and people’s livelihoods.
According to the plan, for instance, Shenzhen will advance the construction of the Guangming science city, its brain analysis and brain simulation project, its synthetic biological research project, and its material genome research project.
Shenzhen will also expedite the construction of several railways, subways, port berths, and traffic hubs in its jurisdiction.
Also, the city will build and expand schools and hospitals and start the construction of the Shenzhen Natural History Museum, which will cover a construction area of about 100,000 square meters.
