Liantang Port implements new COVID-19 policy for truck drivers
All vehicles transporting fresh food shuttling between Shenzhen and Hong Kong through the Wenjindu Port, the only port in Luohu exclusively for vehicles between the two cities, must follow Shenzhen’s new cargo transportation policy from March 1. The announcement was made via a notice from the Luohu district COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control department issued on the early morning of the same day.
Only these trucks have access to the connection services provided by the port, and drivers of the vehicles should book the services in advance.
As well as following normal epidemic prevention and control procedures, the drivers should drive their trucks to the designated spots in the port, where they should unload their cargo. Receivers of the cargo from the mainland are then in charge of transporting it out of the port.
All the drivers entering the port to transportcargo to the Chinese mainland should register for the practice in advance, and they are subject to strict closed-loop management in their collective residences, the port, and their workplaces to minimize the risks of importing cases from the neighboring special administrative region.
