China's First Data Broker Innovation Center Launched in Shenzhen
On March 18, China's first Data Broker Innovation Center, backed by Huawei Cloud, was launched in Qianhai, Shenzhen.
Over the next three years, it is expected to generate more than 3 billion yuan in data transactions and drive nearly 10 billion yuan in revenue for enterprises in the data industry. The center aims to support over 100 data brokerage firms, fostering both new entrants and local businesses.
Data brokers serve as intermediaries, facilitating the integration and circulation of industry and public data while ensuring secure and compliant data transactions. Guangdong pioneered the data brokerage system in 2021 as part of its efforts to marketize data assets and enhance their economic value.
Jointly established by the Qianhai Authority and Bao'an District Government, the center is operated by Qianhai Big Data Resource Management Co., Ltd. It leverages Huawei Cloud's expertise in data elements, cloud computing, big data, and AI to create a high-level innovation platform.
Over the next three years, the center plans to facilitate 3 billion yuan in data transactions (including data products and services), drive nearly 10 billion yuan in revenue for data-related enterprises, support over 100 data broker firms, including at least 30 new companies, and develop 30 pilot application scenarios to accelerate data-driven innovation. This initiative marks a major step in advancing China’s data economy, reinforcing Qianhai's role as a key hub for digital transformation.
