The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region recently concluded its engagement in the 25th Shenzhen Reading Month, further solidifying cultural and literary ties between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
This year, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR government organized over 20 events under the “Shenzhen-Hong Kong: A Tale of Two Cities” series. Highlights included the "Palace Museum Collection × Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage" exhibition and book fair, as well as the "Green Reading: Twin Cities in Harmony" exhibition, hosted at the Hong Kong Central Library exhibition hall. These events offered participants an immersive cultural journey, intertwining heritage and contemporary literary themes.
Futian district also hosted diverse activities such as cultural sharing sessions, author talks, and workshops led by writers and intangible cultural heritage practitioners from Hong Kong. The Hong Kong intangible cultural heritage workshops stood out, featuring nine sessions on traditional crafts like Hakka floral band weaving, paper-cutting, Hong Kong-style milk tea preparation, and traditional Chinese long gowns tailoring. Additionally, eleven author sharing sessions enriched the event, fostering deeper cross-border cultural exchange.
