Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link surpasses 10 million crossings in 125 days
As of noon on October 25, 2024, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has completed 125 days in operation, with vehicle crossings exceeding 10 million since its opening. To manage high traffic volumes, especially during holiday peaks, traffic authorities have introduced a range of measures to ensure safe, smooth passage. These include remote traffic diversion, controlled "drip-feed" release, lane adjustments, and alternating traffic flow, reducing accidents and enhancing travel efficiency across bridges and tunnels.
Additionally, fast response teams are prepared for quick accident intervention and clearing operations.
Fast-response teams stand ready to handle incidents and clear any obstructions quickly. During peak hours, drones perform automated surveillance, transmitting real-time footage to the central monitoring network to promptly identify and respond to incidents. Equipped with speakers, the drones also assist with real-time traffic direction in high-density areas, further optimizing flow and safety for all travelers.
