Greater Bay Area Innovation Achievements Exhibition kicks off in Hong Kong
The "2024 Greater Bay Area Innovation Achievements Exhibition" was launched in Hong Kong, aiming to showcase the significant achievements in innovation, development, and cooperation within the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
This exhibition focuses on high-quality development and collaboration among the cities within the GBA. Nearly 80 meticulously designed exhibition panels are on display, allowing visitors to experience the innovative vibe of the region. Following its debut in Hong Kong, the exhibition will tour other GBA cities, including Macau, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Huizhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing, and Jiangmen, to share the stories and successes of the GBA.
In recent years, the GBA has experienced rapid economic growth. In 2023, the GBA's total economic output surpassed 14 trillion yuan, highlighting its robust economic vitality.
At the launch ceremony, Lan An, Executive Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Hong Kong Commercial Daily, emphasized in his speech the importance of the GBA's efforts and achievements in fostering new productivity, positioning the region as a key window into China's high-quality development. Lan noted that the GBA is not only a hub for high-tech industries, high-end services, and urban cultural and tourism development but also a pioneer in creating a high-quality living environment that is suitable for living, working, and traveling.
In a video address, Joseph Chan, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, highlighted the GBA's role as a crucial platform and model for China's modernization efforts. He noted that the development and application of technological innovation empower traditional industries and foster new business models, driving high-quality development in Hong Kong and the broader GBA. Chan stated that the exhibition demonstrates the positive outcomes of integration and high-quality development across the cities in the GBA, aligning with the national development strategy.
