Shenzhen's land ports set new records in passenger traffic to and from Hong Kong
On Aug. 3, the number of passengers entering and exiting Hong Kong through Shenzhen's land ports in a single day reached 877,700, setting a new record since the full resumption of normal customs clearance. This number was surpassed on Aug. 4, with 882,800 passengers, including 390,600 entering and 492,200 exiting.
Recently, Shenzhen launched summer consumption promotion activities. Leveraging the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan link and summer holiday consumption spree, and capitalizing on its advantages in culture, commerce, and tourism, Shenzhen has focused on new products, stores, routes, and services. Over 600 diverse themed promotional activities have been organized from June to August by various market entities, further stimulating consumer vitality.
To facilitate consumption for Hong Kong residents in Shenzhen, multiple banks in Shenzhen have been assisting Hong Kong residents in opening personal accounts on the Chinese mainland through their branches in Hong Kong. Data shows that in the first half of this year, over 3 million bank accounts were opened by Hong Kong residents in Shenzhen, with a cumulative transaction amount exceeding 24 billion yuan.
