Guangdong boosts support for Hong Kong and Macao youth employment and entrepreneurship
Guangdong is actively supporting employment and entrepreneurial endeavors of youth from Hong Kong and Macao by improving the relevant service systems.
Zhu Wei, deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, stated that Guangdong has fully lifted employment permit requirements for Hong Kong and Macao residents working in the province. To date, Guangdong employs over 200,000 residents from Hong Kong and Macao, including 3,950 professionals in sectors such as healthcare, education, tourism, and architectural planning, who are practicing in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.”
Additionally, Guangdong has established incubation bases aimed at nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship among young people from Hong Kong and Macao. These bases provide a suite of support measures, including subsidies and guaranteed loans, to eligible startups co-founded by youth from these areas. So far, more than 4,800 projects from Hong Kong and Macao have been incubated, resulting in employment opportunities for nearly 5,500 young individuals.
