The Guangdong Free Trade Zone (GDFTZ) celebrated its 9th anniversary on March 8, 2024, with impressive growth in trade and investment.

In 2023, the GDFTZ's total foreign trade import and export value reached 579.95 billion yuan (US$85.4 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.1%. The actual use of foreign capital was US$4.19 billion, attracting one-fifth of the province's total foreign capital with only one-sixteenth of the province's area.

The GDFTZ has achieved remarkable results since its establishment in 2015. It has attracted a total of 27,500 registered foreign-invested enterprises with a total actual use of foreign capital of US$67.8 billion. The total import and export value has exceeded 700 billion yuan.

New enterprises registered in the GDFTZ reached 27,500, a year-on-year increase of 21.3%, of which 2,217 were newly registered foreign-invested enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%. The revenue of above-scale enterprises reached 1.28 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.4%. The profit was 62.187 billion yuan, an increase of 18.9%.
