Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area extends invitations to global talents
On Feb. 18th, representatives from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) extended invitations to global talents during a discussion themed "Strengthening Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Talent Cooperation, Reinforcing Industrial and Technological Talent Support." The discussion was part of the Guangdong Provincial High-quality Development Conference.
The pivotal role of talent in advancing industrial and technological innovation was underscored during the discussion. This year's Provincial High-quality Development Conference emphasized the invaluable contribution of human resources.
In his address, Mr. Chan Kwok-ki, chief secretary for Administration of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), shared Hong Kong's experiences and practices in attracting global innovation and technology talents. He highlighted the collaborative efforts between Hong Kong and cities in the GBA in recent years. In January, the two regions signed a "Framework Agreement on Promoting Guangdong-Hong Kong Talent Cooperation" to expedite the in-depth integration of talent development. "The HKSAR government will host the Global Talent Summit and Greater Bay Area Talent High-Quality Development Conference this year, and we sincerely invite your participation," stated Chan.
Lian Yi, a member of the standing committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, affirmed that Guangzhou would leverage the strengths of significant platforms such as Guangzhou Laboratory and Greater Bay Area National Center of Technology Innovation. The goal is to achieve robust collaborations between Guangzhou's talents, industries, and markets, and the talents, regulations, and innovation ecosystems of Hong Kong and Macao.
