Pearl River Delta drives high-quality development of Guangdong in 2023
In 2023, Guangzhou and Shenzhen issued several plans to improve business environment. At present, Guangzhou and Shenzhen have been included in the first batch of six pilot cities for business environment innovation. The business environment reform in the two cities not only benefit business entities, but also inject momentum into the economic development of the Pearl River Delta and the rest of Guangdong.
At present, the total number of business entities in Guangdong province has reached 18 million, of which 7.78 million are enterprises, accounting for one-seventh of the country. According to the report of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), Guangdong has been honored as the province with the best reputation in terms of business environment for four consecutive years.
The PRD has strengthened its efforts in opening up, deepened cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and promoted coordinated development of urban and rural areas.
The PRD is further participating in smooth domestic circulation to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.
Automobile consumption is increasing in the area. 2023 "Happy Buying Dongguan" Spring Consumption Season Automobile Consumption Promotion Activity is underway, with 10 million yuan of subsidies for the purchase of new automobiles being given to consumers; the Foshan Winter Consumption Promotion and Foshan New Year's Cargo Festival Activity is being held in Foshan. The Foshan Winter Consumption Promotion and Foshan New Year's Goods Festival was launched with the participation of five districts in the city, involving automobiles, home appliances and other areas.
Shenzhen will actively create an international consumption center city, and Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan and other six cities will become regional consumption centers.
The nine cities in the Pearl River Delta, relying on platforms such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, will make greater use of foreign investment and attract global investors.
At the 2023 Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area Trade in Services Conference, more than 600 enterprises participated in the conference, and US$878 million of international outsourcing orders were received on site; the 2023 Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area Global Investment Promotion Conference resulted in 859 investment and trade projects, with a total value of more than RMB 2.24 trillion yuan;
The 134th Canton Fair offline export transactions amounted to US$22.3 billion, with offline participants attending the conference. The export volume of the 134th Canton Fair was 22.3 billion U.S. dollars, and nearly 200,000 overseas buyers participated in the fair offline.
