The total number of business entities in Guangdong province has surpassed 18 million, including over 7.8 million enterprises and more than 10 million individual businesses, according to the Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Bureau.

Guangdong's total number of registered business entities in the province is 18.067 million, accounting for one-tenth of the national total. This reflects a net increase of 1.728 million households compared to the end of the previous year, marking a growth of 10.6%. This growth rate is the highest in nearly five years.

In the year 2023, the province witnessed the registration of 3.161 million new business entities, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 25.4%. This growth rate is the highest in nearly five years, surpassing the national average growth rate by at least 10 percentage points.

Gong Xianping, a second-level inspector at the Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Administration, has indicated that in recent years, Guangdong has been optimizing its business environment to facilitate the high-quality development of business entities. The province has introduced a comprehensive set of policies to support and nurture individual businesses, as well as to promote the growth of rural business entities.
