GBA sees new heights in global innovation index
Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou ranks as the world’s second-largest technology cluster, according to the 2023 Global Innovation Index (GII) released by the World Intellectual Property Organization on Sept. 20.
The Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou cluster has consistently held the position of the world’s second-largest technology cluster for four consecutive years. Over the past five years, the cluster has averaged 2,291 patent cooperation treaty (PCT) applications and published 3,092 scientific articles per million residents, solidifying its position as the second-largest technology cluster in 2023.
