Huizhou becomes a major green produce base in the Greater Bay Area
Huizhou, Guangdong province, has become the largest supplier of vegetables and frozen poultry in the Chinese mainland to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The city is also a major green produce base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area thanks to its wide application of modern agricultural technology and the development of large-scale food industrial clusters.
To guarantee food safety, the city is focusing on forming a whole industrial chain of agricultural products and creating a digital platform to realize smart agriculture and provide online trading, real-time monitoring, and other digital services. It also combines supply and marketing cooperatives at all levels to achieve data interconnection.
Huizhou Customs provides one-stop services of inspection, quarantine and customs clearance supervision for agricultural and food enterprises, which can improve the efficiency of agricultural products circulation.
