New leadership of Luohu’s top political advisory body elected

The first conference of the 6th Luohu District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the district’s top political advisory body, concluded Nov. 4.
Liu Guangmin was elected chairman of the committee, and Luo Litao, Liao Jinwen, Luo Jianlin, Yang Ming and Liang Zhen, were named vice-chairpersons of the committee.
Luohu Party Chief Liu Sheng and Mayor Fan Defan attended the closing meeting of the conference, which passed a resolution on the functioning of the newly elected standing committee of the 6th Luohu District Committee of the CPPCC, which consists of 49 members.
Liu Guangmin said the leadership of the committee will draw on the collective wisdom of its members as it works to fulfill its duties.
He said the members of the committee will focus their work on the specific tasks of Luohu's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), and capitalize on their respective expertise to resolve practical problems and concerns for the district and its people.
Liu Sheng affirmed the achievements of the previous Luohu District Committee of the CPPCC.
He said that standing at this juncture, the development of Luohu has embarked on a new journey, and the new Luohu District Committee of the CPPCC should consider innovative measures as it continues to raise valuable proposals.
He urged the members of the district political advisory body to effectively participate in political affairs, and focus on the sustainable development of Luohu.
He called on the members of the committee to pool positive energy through synergy, allow for the role of consultative democracy as an important channel and bridge, and actively contribute to social governance.
